Enrichment Trips

SommFoundation, subsidized by sponsors and fundraising efforts, provides educational trips (virtual and in-person) to domestic and international wine and spirits regions. It is imperative that beverage professionals have the opportunity to visit vineyards and distilleries around the world in order to give them context, expertise and sommelier training.

  •  Rudd Round Table, 2009 - 2024

    • The Rudd Round Table was founded in 2009, through a collaboration with Leslie Rudd, the Rudd Foundation, and SommFoundation.  The event is a two-day educational and mentorship program for twelve of the top aspiring Master Sommeliers in the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, during which attendees will experience an intensive and intimate learning environment guided by Master Sommeliers in panels, group discussions, and one-on-one formats.

  • Somm Camp, 2014 - 2024 (excluding 2020 or 2022)

    • Be one of a select group of people to participate in this engaging, hands-on, educational experience focusing on vineyards and wineries of Napa Valley and Sonoma County. We will explore mountain viticulture, organic and biodynamic practices, lab work behind the scenes, techniques in wine making, blind tasting, and many other topics.

  • Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas Women’s Symposium, 2023 - 2025

    • The Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas will invite 10 female Advanced and Master Sommelier candidates for a two-day program that educates, inspires, and builds impactful connections between women. The focus will be not only on key elements of exam preparation, but also on discussions around career paths, business, and other topics.

  • TEXSOM, 2019 - 2024

    • SommFoundation and our sponsor, Santa Margherita USA, are offering scholarships for two professionals to attend the annual TEXSOM event.

  • Brooks Winery Harvest Internship, 2017 - 2024

    • Brooks Winery is a Biodynamic vineyard and winery located in Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills where they farm and make Pinot Noir and Riesling, along with numerous other aromatic white varietals, and a bit of Gamay and Syrah.
